30 Day Challenge
30 Day Challenge
So here is the Challenge:
To keep a food log and workout log for 30 days. Workout 5 days a week. Goal is to lose 5 lbs. If I cannot lose 5lbs in 30 days I will go to the doctor for an evaluation.
What lead to this 30 day challenge? A few thing actually. 1. When I was training for my half marathon this summer, I was not able to lose ANY weight at all. I was running up to 20 miles a week and not able to lose a single pound. Hmmmm... 2. I weighed myself this morning and I have gained 5 lbs in the two months since my half marathon. That packed onto the 15 I have gained since I started dating my boyfriend has made it hard to wear pants. So, hence, the challenge. I can do anything for a month.
Starting Weight: 157
Workout for 25 Nov:
30 min run/jog: 12 min mile, knee hurt after uphills. Cardio seemed to be still at a good level. Not too much heavy breathing.
15 ab workout Jillian Micheal's 6 week 6 pack.
Breakfast: 3 eggs with fat free cheese, hot sauce. 1 slice of toast with margarine. 2 slices of turkey bacon. 2 cups of coffee with creamer.
Snack: 1 Greek yogurt . 1 33 oz water
Lunch: half slice of turkey, 1 med sweet potato, cranberry sauce
Snack: Peanut Protein Bar
Dinner: Homeade pizza with meatballs, onions, peppers, mushrooms.

Today's Thought: Fall TV is going to suck. Part 1. Sneak Peek Preview
Last night I got a "sneak preview" of a brand new comedy for the fall, "Go On" with Matthew Perry on NBC. This show sucked. Let me back up. This show sucked ever since I saw the advertisement for it in May. Why? Let me enlighten you.
1. Who wants to watch Matthew Perry?
Matthew Perry is not funny naturally. He is only kind of funny when he has good material to go off of. Plus, he looks like plastic. I am not sure if the make-up "artist" just really did a bad job or it is just the lighting but he just looks bad. Lastly, Friends is over. You can't ride the gravy train forever and shame on NBC for forcing us to watch him and enabling him to ride it.
2. Who wants to watch a sitcom about therapy groups?
Now don't get me wrong, this girl is a big fan of reality therapy TV and of dramatic therapy series. There is nothing, however, you can ingest into a group therapy session that will make this funny enough for me to continue watching it.
3. Sitcoms on NBC generally are really hit or miss.
I love the following current sitcoms on NBC: Community, Parks and Rec, 30 Rock, and (soon to be no more) The Office. I dislike Whitney and that one, you know, Christina Applegate and Will Arnett...
Anyways, I am usually not a fan especially if you have been pushing it on me since May. By September I am just annoyed.
4. The only, ONLY, actor that has been able to recreate himself several times on TV is Kelsey Grammer.
This came to me this morning. He was first on Cheers (good), then Frasier(better), now Boss(even better). Good for him! Matthew Perry doesn't stand a chance since he doesn't have half the chops, wit, and vocal talent that Mr. Grammer does. Let's pull the plug now and save him the embarrassment.
For these reasons, new shows for the fall are going to suck.

Outlet Creatively?
A few weeks ago, I was sitting in my cubical staring at my computer. My mind was numb. Phone call after phone call. Updating the data, checking the status. I was overcome with a feeling of unhappiness and boredom.
"Where is your brain?" I thought. "What has happened to you? What is so different now than before?"
Then it came to me. I do not have a creative outlet.
Let me back up here for a minute and fill you in.
I have always been a wildly creative person, always. I have always found an outlet through media such as music, arts and crafts, and theater. I never needed to search for a creative outlet for it was always there naturally. Even with all of my adventures through college, the Army and beyond, I had an outlet. However, in August 2011, I had been let go from a super creative job with youth and the community that provided that outlet for me. I had to find a new job! Aghhh!!! Along came a great corporate job with benefits that I thought was still going to provide me with some sort of creative thinking. Wrong! I sit in a cube all day with talking points and a metric to follow for calls. Not much room for anything.
This brings me back to where I was a few weeks ago, staring at my computer in my cube. How am I going to be creative? Hence, this blog was born.
I have been told for years that I am an idea person with no follow through. What a true statement? I could come up with ideas all day long but have no idea how to execute. A blog would be a great way to come up with ideas and express opinions without having to follow through. I would be able to talk about all those topics that I like to talk about, give my two cents and never look back. Yeah!!!!
So here you have it, my new blog about all kinds of topics that interest me.
